Watch the Sun As it crawls across a final time And it feels like Like it was a friend If it's watching us And the world we set on fire Do you wonder If it feels the same?
And the sky is filled with light Can you see it? All the black is really white If you believe it As the time is running out Let me take away your doubt We can find a better place In this twilight
Dust to dust Ashes in your hair remind me What it feels like And I won't feel again Night descends Could I have been a better person? If I could only Do it all again
But the sky is filled with light Can you see it? All the black is really white If you believe it And the longing that you feel You know none of this is real We will find a better place In this twilight
Nine Inch Nails
This one was in the works for well over a year, on and off.
I fell in love with the song the minute I heard it, and really wanted to illustrate the metaphorical (or is it?) end of the world. That place where you feel there's nothing left to do but watch as the world around you comes crumbling down.
I think it may be my best piece of work, at least technically, and I learned a lot while painting it.
Once again you suprise us with a great piece of work. This reminds another ilustration of a Nine Inch Nails song you did but this one is way better than the other. It just shows us how much you keep getting better. You are perfect in what you do. You don't just draw a place crumbling down around someone, you draw all the little details, even things some of us might not actually notice. I love the rain, it's beautiful. Congratulations on this one
Lovely details, textures, perspective and concept. Nice piece of work!

You must work very large to get all that neat detail in. I've got a monitor on order (an Eizo), which should help me with this. My (sub-compact) laptop screen is frustratingly small and spoils the flow of my strokes, etc.
I'm getting ready for photoshop, but I have more messing around to do with the free/ cheap software first.
I did print several of my learning pieces and I'm having them framed up. I'll put one or two in the instructor's show next month. It will be the only digital art in the gallery! I'm such a radical.

My screen is regular-sized, I think. I used to have a very small one which made painting very hard, but my new one is a lot better. Not huge, but a great improvement over the old one.
I've tried GIMP once (when I messed up my Windows activation thingie and had to use Linux for a while), and it seemed like a great Photoshop clone. I've been using PS for a long time, since a teacher of mine got me a copy. I've gotten used to it, but I'd love to try Painter, too.
I've been wanting to frame pieces of mine too, but haven't yet. I printed a couple of them for school, but nothing more.
Also, congrats on being the only digital artist in the gallery! Dunno if it's a local problem, but I've noticed that most people around here don't see digital art as art at all. There are countless drawing, painting, sculpting, etc galleries, but nothing regarding digital stuff. It's a shame, really.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Have a nice day. :3
I love the song, it's very strange but beautiful. Too bad it's kinda short.
Thank you very much for the comment and the favorite!
